e2v renews strategic supply agreement with Freescale

e2v, a leading global provider of hi-rel semiconductor solutions today announced the renewal of its strategic partnership agreement with Freescale. Under this agreement e2v will develop and supply extended performance, hi-reliability versions of Freescale microprocessors and will be releasing a number of new products in the coming months. Also, in recognition of their long standing relationship, e2v has been elevated to a Proven Partner within the Freescale Connect partnership programme.

The renewal of this license agreement enables e2v (as a value added supplier), to produce extended reliability versions of Freescale microprocessors. These products are produced using Freescale test vectors to ensure complete compatibility and come with full e2v warranty conditions. e2v is also able to extend the life of Freescale microprocessors far beyond the traditional semiconductor product lifespan by virtue of the e2v Semiconductor Lifecycle Management programme (SLiM), which offers security of supply, essential for aerospace and defence programmes. The agreement demonstrates e2v’s continued investment in developing a product portfolio targeting extended reliability markets through additional screening, packaging and testing to meet exacting military and aerospace qualification standards. Following the strategic supply agreement renewal, e2v will be releasing a number of new products including hi-reliability versions of the popular Freescale QorIQ and Qorivva microprocessors.

Freescale’s Connect partnership programme comprises a global network of independent engineering companies that offer vital tools, software, technology, engineering services and training to facilitate embedded design based on a Freescale solution. As a Proven Partner within the programme, e2v provides customers with extended operational parameters, counterfeit protection and extended availability, on top of Freescale’s core technologies.

Eric Marcelot, marketing manager at e2v said “We are delighted that our long-term partnership agreement with Freescale has been renewed. It has initiated the release of a number of new products, including the P2041 and P3041 quad-core QorIQ processors. We are also very pleased to have been recognised as a Proven Partner in the Freescale Connect partnership programme and be able to be part of a comprehensive set of tools and solutions that helps customers to effectively achieve their project objectives.”
