e2v and its employees raise over £35,000 for good causes

e2v and its Chelmsford and Lincoln based employees have raised over £35,000 for charities and good causes from a variety of events and fund raising activities over the last year.

Over £5,600 was raised directly by e2v’s employees for the company’s core charities in Chelmsford and Lincoln through a range of activities, including a football competition, an employee lottery and an Olympic themed cake bake. £8000 was donated by e2v to match the £15,000 plus already raised individually by employees for 58 different charitable events. The remaining £6,400 was raised through the e2v foundation, a separate fund financed by e2v and managed by the Essex Community Foundation, where the interest made each year is donated to good causes.

The money raised by employees has been donated to charitable organisations close to e2v’s sites, including Essex and Lincoln Air Ambulance services, Little Havens Children’s Hospice, Farleigh Hospice, St Barnabus Hospice and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The funds from the e2v foundation were shared between Essex Outward Bound, The Tabor Centre in Braintree, Chelmsford Engineering Society and Riding for the Disabled.

Andy Bennett Chair of e2v’s Charities Committee said “There are so many of our people who do a great deal of work in their communities, giving their time in support of charities and good causes. From the simple act of baking an Olympic themed cake and selling it to friends, to helping out in the hosting the Farleigh Hospice Walk for Life, where 1500 people walked across Chelmsford to our car park, to spending 24 hours riding around a wet and windy Goodwood race track for children’s charity Action Medical Research; we are really pleased to be able to support them all.”
