e2v aerospace and defense now shipping QPV750 family of UV erasable PLDs in production

Product offering includes standard, enhanced,
and low power versions

e2v aerospace and defense today announced that its hi-rel semiconductor operation in Santa Clara (formerly QP Semiconductor) is now shipping the QPV750 family of high-density UV erasable Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs). These products are fully re-engineered and manufactured on a mainstream CMOS process. They can serve as drop-in replacements for the Atmel ATV750 and Philips/Signetics PLV750 families used in key mil/aero applications.

The QPV750 family of PLDs is a superset of the industry-standard 22V10 design, and these devices have up to 42 array inputs, 20 sum terms, and 20 flip-flops. There are two base versions of the device – the standard QPV750 and the enhanced QPV750B, which adds D-type and T-type flip-flop capability and offers product term or direct input pin clocking. For applications where power consumption is a concern, there are two low-power versions, the QPV750L and QPV750BL, which have a standby current as low as 5mA typical. Devices are available with propagation delays ranging from 10 to 40 ns.

The QPV750 family of devices is available in two package options: the 24-pin ceramic DIP and the 28-pin ceramic LCC, both manufactured in compliance with the latest revision of MIL-PRF-38535, making them ideally suited for military temperature applications. The QPV750 family is available as MIL-STD-883 devices or in compliance with the applicable DSCC SMD# 5962-88726.

“The addition of the full QPV750 family of PLD devices continues e2v’s history of providing re-engineered solutions for obsolete devices when the die inventory from the original manufacturer is exhausted”, said Dean Frazier, Corporate VP of e2v aerospace and defense. “Our ability to extend the lifetime of mission critical components without costly and difficult system redesign is a major building block in our Semiconductor Lifecycle Management (SLiMTM) program. This re-engineering capability extends aerospace and defense program lifetimes without expensive Last-Time-Buys and reduces risk by providing fully guaranteed and qualified devices.”

The QPV750 family is available with a variety of speed, features, and packages, as shown below:
