The e2v foundation donates £2250 to local good causes

e2v, the Chelmsford based developer and manufacturer of specialised components and sub-systems, has donated £2250 to 2 local causes as part of its annual giving from the e2v foundation.

The e2v foundation is a long term investment fund, run for e2v by Essex Community Foundation (ECF). It provides an annual sum from interest acrued which is then donated to good causes.

This year the e2v foundation was able to help 2 causes. Firstly the North Avenue Youth Centre, in Chelmsford, whose aim is the physical, spiritual and mental development of young people through purposeful leisure time activities. North Avenue Youth Centre is in the heart of a community where the majority of families are living on a low income so find it hard to provide new experiences for their children.

The second good cause was The Wilderness Foundation UK, to support costs of the TurnAround project, again based in Chelmsford, which uses outdoor wilderness activities to encourage disaffected young people to make long term positive changes to their lives.

Andy Bennett, chair of e2v’s charity committee commented: “It has been a difficult year for charitable causes, having to raise money against the background of a global recession. The e2v foundation is a great example of how the ECF helps businesses like e2v to set up long term charitable giving, making it possible for good causes to continue their vital funding.”
